The AEACC Internship Program places students and recent graduates inside the working life of a bilateral chamber of commerce — market research, member engagement, communications and events — on trade and investment between Australia and East Africa.
Interns work alongside the Secretariat and the Executive Committee on the day-to-day running of the AEACC. This is not a shadowing programme.
Interns nominate a primary stream on application. In practice, cohorts are small enough that most interns contribute across two or three streams over the twelve weeks — the primary stream determines where the substantial piece of work sits, not the limit of the experience.

The commercial engine of the Chamber.
Skills developed Business development fundamentals, CRM discipline, commercial writing, relationship mapping, exposure to negotiation.
The Program is designed first as a work-integrated learning placement. Start and finish dates, weekly hours and deliverables are all shaped around the academic calendar, and AEACC handles whatever the intern's university requires — host agreements, supervisor details, hours logs, assessments and faculty forms.
Applicants studying or qualified in business, commerce, economics, international relations, development, communications, law, agriculture, engineering and related fields. Prior professional experience is not required. Initiative is.

Start and finish dates can be negotiated to suit academic requirements. Interns may extend a placement or conclude early where circumstances require.
AEACC works with universities in Australia and across East Africa to host work-integrated learning placements. Institutions interested in establishing a placement arrangement, or in listing AEACC as an approved host, are welcome to contact the Secretariat at management@aeacc.org.
For students currently enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate degree, undertaking the placement for academic credit or as a required work-integrated learning unit. AEACC completes all university documentation.
For those who completed a relevant degree within the last twelve months and are seeking structured professional experience. No academic credit attaches to this route; interns receive a Certificate of Completion and a written reference.
